Caley and County matches postponed

YESTERDAY’S Clydesdale Bank Premier League match between Inverness and St Johnstone was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The pitch at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium failed an 11.30am inspection.

A statement on the Inverness CT website said: “Although there is no snow at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, the heavy overnight sleet left the pitch very wet. Following a pitch inspection by the match referee, the game has been called off. As well as the condition of the pitch, there are public safety concerns about asking fans to travel in the poor weather conditions which are forecast to continue for the rest of the day.”

Caley Thistle’s local rivals Ross County also suffered a postponement with snow forcing off their Irn-Bru First Division clash with Partick Thistle at Victoria Park.
