Broxburn 11 (eleven), Spartans 0

To say Broxburn had an
emphatic win over Spartans would be an understatement as they annihilated Spartans 11-0 in the Dechmont Forklift South League Cup.

Broxburn streaked to a 5–0 half-time lead in this match,
rearranged due to a bereavement, with goals from John Jeffreys, Sean Martin, Jon Tague, Mark Cowan and an own goal.

There was no respite for the Ainslie Park side in the second half. Jeffreys added another strike as did Cowan while two goals from central defender Brian Fairbairn and a brace from Scott Pittman meant Broxburn had run up one of the biggest wins in East Region history.

This was a harsh lesson for Spartans who seem to have not the same support as their East of Scotland colleagues have. But Broxburn can be pleased they helped erase the memory of their weekend defeat at the hands of Bonnyrigg.

Tonight Linlithgow Rose travel to Whitburn knowing they are already in the league cup semi-finals with Bonnyrigg facing Livingston again knowing they too are in the semis.

The draw for the last four has been made with Linlithgow
facing Bonnyrigg Rose and the winners of Group D facing the winners of group A. There’s
still a lot to play for in groups D and A with Saturday’s games vital.
