Bo’ness boss boosts squad for title tilt

boss Alan McGonigal has signalled his desire to compete for the Super League title with a string of summer signings.

Former Hearts striker Robert Sloan has joined from East Fife along with fans’ favourite Darren Gribben, who has come back to Newtown Park for a third spell.

Other signings include Livingston United goal machine Brian Jaconelli, his brother Tony plus Andy Scott from Shotts, Chic Connolly of Rob Roy, Falkirk’s Alex Miller and Anton Hefron from Bathgate.

Meanwhile, Broxburn have announced a quadrangular tournament for July 27-28 where they will face strong squads from Dundee, Hamilton and Livingston. Athletic have also announced the signings of Alan Mooney from Whitburn and Connor Devaney from Duns.

Champions Linlithgow Rose, meanwhile, have secured the signature of goalkeeper Scott Christie, 25, from Hamilton Accies.

Newtongrange Star boss Alan Miller has been a busy man. On their way out of New Victoria Park are Kevin Donnelly, Mel Graham, Lewis Turner and Dalkeith-bound Liam Amos. Miller has brought in David Dunn from Bonnyrigg, Jordan Cropley of Haddington and Sean Jamieson from East Fife.
