Black, who played 99 games for Rangers, became a target for the boo-boys towards the end of his Ibrox career, and hit back after being freed by Rangers, claiming he should have been thanked for his efforts.

He recently told Sky Sports that he was considering a few options after he was released by Rangers.

The former Hearts midfielder said: “I’ve got a few options down south and I think I’m going to go there. It’s just a case of weighing them up, picking one and hitting the ground running with the challenge.”

Black had been linked with moves to Plymouth and MK Dons.
