Arniston are pumped up for promotion after victory at Pumpherston

ARNISTON RANGERS are aiming to muscle their way into the promotion fight in the South Division by beating Dunbar at Newbyres Park tomorrow.

Stephen Osbourne’s side won 2-0 at Pumpherston last weekend to move into seventh spot, a point behind Dunbar, but with a game in hand. “It was a good win for us last Saturday as we had to work hard for it,” said the Rangers manager.

“If we can now beat Dunbar as well then we’d be in the
mix for one of those (four)
promotion spots.”

Osbourne’s side started their renaissance by beating leaders Haddington 3-1 towards the end of November and they defeated Dunbar 4-1 at home when the sides met in the League Cup at the start of the season.

However, Osbourne is expecting a tougher test this time and that will certainly be the case if the East Lothian side can reproduce the performance that earned them a 3-2 derby win at Haddington in November.

Other games see Haddington travelling to Pumpherston, Edinburgh United at home to Falkirk, Tranent at Stoneyburn and Spartans heading to West Calder.
