Ann Budge and Leeann Dempster eye election to SPFL board

The league will elect a new board at their AGM on July 20. Budge, 68, missed out on election last summer, but will stand uncontested this time with just three nominees for the three Premiership places. She submitted her application to the league before last night’s midnight deadline.

The other Premiership nominees are Peter Lawwell (Celtic) and Ian Maxwell (Partick Thistle).

Stephen Thompson (Dundee United), Dempster (Hibs) and Eric Drysdale (Raith Rovers) have been put forward for the two positions in the Championship.

League One and League Two have one position for which Brechin City’s Ken Ferguson is the sole nominee.
