All well for Whitehill in cup

Whitehill Welfare 5

Welfare opened the scoring in this South Region Challenge Cup tie after ten minutes with Andrew Kidd heading home.

Tynecastle were left reeling barely two minutes later when some great work from Aaron Somerville played in Wayne McIntosh who cooly finished past the stranded Vannet.

Just before the half hour mark, Steven Manson superbly found the far corner of the net with a low drive to make it 3-0. On 34 minutes, the away side pulled a goal back, Jamie Butler seizing the ball after some hesitant defending and emphatically finishing past Walker. Just past the hour mark Kidd flicked a cross goalwards and Manson headed over Vannet and into the net for Welfare’s fourth.

Substitute Scott McCulloch made it 5-1 from close range five minutes from time before Tynecastle’s own sub Jamie Speed rounded Walker and finished from an angle to complete the scoring.
