Albion aiming to stop the rot against Brechin

Four defeats in their last five league games has seen Albion Rovers sucked back down into ninth place, with manager Todd Lumsden looking to arrest that slide when Brechin City visit Cliftonhill tonight.

Lumsden said: “This is a big week for us. We need to get back to the display that saw us beat Arbroath 4-0 recently.

“The game against Brechin at the start of the season at their place was a tight game as were the matches last season and I do not see any reason why this one will be any different.”

Meanwhile, Forfar will be up to ensure Second Division leaders Queen of the South do not take an even more commanding lead in the race for the Championship by handing out a first league defeat of the season to the Doonhamers at Station Park.

Manager Dick Campbell said: “A victory would certainly send out a message to the chasing clubs that there is a race still to be won. They have done really well this season but we have one or two tricks up our sleeve to try and get one over them.”
