Airdrie have chance to bounce back against Livi

Airdrie will look to banish the memories of Friday’s 6-0 defeat from Rangers by seeing off Championship side Livingston.

Manager Jimmy Boyle said: “I have to say that Rangers were absolutely clinical against us and that was a factor in the score-line. We played well in parts but were punished severely.

Livingston will be sore as well after losing 3-0 at home to Falkirk.”

The Diamonds miss suspended Chris O’Neill and John Boyle, who has a knee injury.

As well as their heavy defeat, Livingston were dealt a further injury blow at the weekend when Marc McNulty limped off, and he joins a lengthy list of absentees that includes Mike Mumpaya, Mark Burchill, Burton O’Brien, Stefan Scougall and Jack Beaumont but Neil Hastings is available after a ban.

Manager Richie Burke is demanding an improvement despite his lack of resources. “I am glad we have the chance to get playing again as the Falkirk performance was extremely disappointing,” he said.

“We are missing a few bodies but we are capable of better.”
