The Dons have lost 1-0 against both Hamilton and Celtic since sealing a Betfred Cup final place against the Ladbrokes Premiership champions.

With only two games left until their Hampden return, Logan is determined to rediscover that feeling of triumph when they play Partick Thistle at Firhill on Friday night. And Aberdeen are also looking to reclaim second place after being overtaken by Rangers last weekend.

Logan said: “Coming off two losses, you want to go into that final with a bit of confidence.

“We have shown we can go up against Celtic so you want to go into that with hopefully two wins and lads raring to go for the cup final.

“These next six points will be crucial to keep us in a good position. We are coming off two defeats which maybe shouldn’t have happened, but they happened and we kick on to the next game.”

While Aberdeen have suffered a double setback, Thistle have kick-started their season. Less than three weeks ago, the Jags were level on points with bottom club Dundee as the Dons sat in second place.

But a home win on Friday would put the Maryhill team two points behind their opponents.

And Logan wants to make sure there are no more regrets.

“It’s tough losing any game and Saturday against Celtic leaves a nasty taste in your mouth,” the former Brentford player said.

“But we had opportunities to score and maybe we could have got back in the game if we went a little bit earlier.

“The game prior to that at Hamilton was a tough one to take. It was never a penalty and we were up against it from the get-go. And we had opportunities to score in that game that didn’t go our way.

“They have won their last two games. They are flying so they will be full of confidence. We are coming off the back of two losses so we need to go there and pick up a good result. It’s set for a good game, Friday night under the spotlights.”
