Fauldhouse United 1 Whitburn 3

ALL the goals came in the end-to-end first half in which Fauldhouse matched Whitburn in every department but finishing. Eamon McNelis headed Whitburn into an early lead. Steven Weir then converted a penalty and a wicked deflection off a Kevin Donnelly shot by Jamie Gallagher completed the visitors' scoring. A looping Bryan Feldis header got Fauldhouse's consolation.

POINTS dropped for Musselburgh as the Fife side scraped a win. Against the run of play Kelty opened the scoring. From a corner kick Craig Morrison was on hand to knock the ball into the net. Musselburgh tried hard after that setback but couldn't find a way through. Kelty sealed the game when a Tam McGeorge effort found the net with five minutes to go.

IN a game switched due to a waterlogged pitch at Arniston, Rangers stumbled against a good Thistle side. Armadale struck after 17 minutes with a goal from Lee Johnstone. His twin brother Ryan added a second on the half-hour mark. Arniston pulled a goal back after 58 minutes with a free kick from Mark Elliss but it was Armadale who secured the win with another great goal from Lee Johnstone.

THIS game, switched to West Calder, was always going to be heavy going. The visitors spurned several chances before Christopher Geddes was brought down in the box by keeper Clark and duly took the penalty to put the visitors 1-0 up at half time. When Meikle was sent off for a second yellow card it looked all over for West Calder but they battled back and Gary Corbet equalised with a header with three minutes left.

DALKEITH raced into a four-goal lead before Dunbar came to life. First Alec Finlayson scored after 35 seconds then an own goal from Ryan Gibb after 95 seconds made things easy. Early in the second half, Steven McDonald scored a third and Steven Pudleski added a fourth midway through the half. Dunbar scored a consolation through Callum Hill with 20 minutes to go.

BLACKBURN opened their account with a goal from Grant Plenderleith after 10 minutes but Spartans fought back with goals from Kenny Young and Michael Moffat before the break. Ten minutes into the second half and Plenderleith scored his and Blackburn's second. With 8 minutes to go Andy McQuillan scored a winner for Blackburn to keep them in touch at the top of the table.

TRANENT retained top spot in the league with this win. Paul Harvey's goal on 67 minutes eased the pressure. He rifled in a left-foot shot from Mel Graham's flick-on. Victory was sealed on 87 minutes. Substitute Joe Murray with another left-foot special, finished off a move from the right. Sauchie made the early running but were unable to crack a resolute defence. Keeper Sinclair Inglis was in fine form. Bookings in the second half were Steven Tait and substitute Danny Munro for Tranent with Steven Vinter and Graeme King for Sauchie.
