The 20-year-old, who has netted seven times in 13 appearances for the Second Division outfit since moving in August, said: "I went out on loan to get fit and to play games and score goals and that's what I've done. When I go back I'll definitely be looking to make an impression."

Rothen has options as he eyes new club

EX-RANGERS loan signing Jerome Rothen will bide his time before deciding on a possible move to AEK Athens as he considers options elsewhere, including England. The 32-year-old, a free agent since leaving Turkish side Ankaragucu in the summer, has held talks with the Greek Super League side in recent days. He said: "I have other paths open to me in the United States, England and France. I will think about it."

INTER Milan president Massimo Moratti feels "betrayed" by his club's performance in a 3-0 loss to Werder Bremen, and has issued an ultimatum to win the Club World Cup. Moratti said, "I feel betrayed. There are no excuses now. The Club World Cup must be won." Inter are heading to the tournament in the United Arab Emirates with new manager Rafa Benitez's job on the line.

Eriksson fails in bid to lure Beckham

LEICESTER City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson says he has failed in a bold attempt to sign former England midfielder David Beckham from the Los Angeles Galaxy. Eriksson revealed: "I spoke to David's agent to see if there was a chance. He said it was not possible."

Beckham will be entering the final year of his Galaxy contract when the American season resumes next March.

Fifa issues stern warning to Ghana

FIFA has warned Ghana they face being referred to its emergency committee if their government does not stop interfering in football matters, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.

The GFA revealed on its official website that it had received a letter from the world governing body giving the Ghanaian authorities a Sunday deadline to "stop their direct intervention and allow GFA to work again".
