First Alps Tour test passed by Scots trio

Clydebank's Scott Henry coasted through stage one of the Alps Tour's qualifying school at Riva dei Tessali in Italy yesterday.

The former Scottish Strokeplay champion closed with a three-under 68 for a five-under 137 and finished second, four shots behind French amateur, Guillaume Cambis, who hit a 65 for 133.

At the Metaponto course, Tartan Tour pro James McGhee and former Scottish Boys' champion Lee Harper both fired three-under 69s for one-under 143s to qualify in a share of 16th there.

Englishman Paul Maddy eased to a six-shot win with a 68 for 132. Henry, McGhee and Harper will stay on in southern Italy for the 54-hole Q-school final, which starts on Monday.

Henry's girlfriend, Kylie Walker, is the leading Scot at the halfway stage of the Hero Honda Women's Indian Open.

Walker followed her opening 71 with a second-round 75 at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Delhi and sits six shots behind the halfway leader, Tandi Cunningham.

Carly Booth (72 for 148), Pamela Feggaans (76 for 152) and Vikki Laing (74 for 152) also qualified for the final two rounds.
