Fabre can end Ascot drought with Byword

ANDRE Fabre can end a three-year barren spell at Royal Ascot by sending out Byword to victory in the Prince Of Wales' Stakes.

The master French trainer last won the showpiece meeting when Manduro took this ten-furlong heat back in 2007 and Byword looks to be coming good at just the right time.

The seven-furlong Jersey Stakes kicks off proceedings, and recent Epsom winner Shakespearean looks sure to take plenty of beating.

The older fillies and mares get their chance to shine in the Windsor Forest Stakes and the one that gets the nod in an open contest is Strawberrydaiquiri.

There was nothing wrong with Acrostic's comeback effort at York and he looks good for the Royal Hunt Cup and look out for the Dermot Weld-trained Irish raider Moonlit Garden in the Queen Mary Stakes.
