Experience conquers youth

VETERAN Bruce Flockhart, the eight-time Scottish champion, pulled off a shock win over Edinburgh teenager Martin Campbell to reach today's semi-finals of the men's singles at the Yonex Dunfermline Open at Duloch Leisure Centre.

Flockhart beat the No.3 seed 21-16, 21-17 to set up a last-four tie with Scottish No.1 Kieran Merrilees. The top seed had a harder than expected quarter-final against Stuart Gilliland before going through 18-21, 21-13, 21-10.

Calum Menzies will face Danny Leinster in the other semi.
