Donaldson’s hope

Scottish snooker is just one victory away from a remarkable double after Perth’s Scott Donaldson reached the final of the European Amateur Championships in Latvia. Donaldson, 18, secured a 6-2 victory over Ireland’s Rodney Goggins and will now play Brendan O’Donoghue.

A win for Donaldson today will give him a two-year invitation to the Professional Main Tour, joining Midlothian’s Michael Leslie, who won the European Under-21 Championship earlier this year.
