Dave King: Barrie McKay sale was '˜bad management' from Rangers

Rangers chairman Dave King has admitted the sale of Barrie McKay was 'bad management' by the Ibrox club.

The winger was sold for a cut-price fee of £500,000 to Nottingham Forest in the summer.

Ex-Rangers boss Mark Warburton was able to acquire his former player after McKay was frozen out by his successor Pedro Caixinha.

Speaking at the club’s AGM, King says it’s a position the club will look to avoid in future as they wish to refrain from appearing to conduct fire sales with their best players.

McKay has starred for Forest in the Ladbrokes Championship this season, netting four times and sitting joint-top of the assist table with seven.
