McCallum and fellow capital-based international Evan Oliphant recently returned from a spell of intensive training in Australia and New Zealand and the riders will now fly to the South of France for a training camp before they face their first competitive outing at the Tour of the Mediterranean next month.

McCallum said: "It's looking good, we have some fantastic races in France to get our teeth into."
