Lasswade scrum up well

Lasswade have gained a boost ahead of the new rugby season with victory in their own 
eight-team tournament.

The Championship League B team emerged unbeaten from their section after drawing with Livingston, defeating 
Portobello then edging out Haddington when a penalty from captain Gavin Brown was the only score.

Lasswade then won the final 17-0 against RH Cougars who had come through with victories over Ardrossan, Preston Lodge, and Glenrothes.

In the Borders, Boroughmuir got their campaign up and running with a 32-21 win over Scottish Cup holders, Gala, whose summer recruits include Currie three-quarter Grant Somerville and Musselburgh scrum half Danny Owenson.
