Edwards is named player of the year

CRICKET: William Edwards, a Fettes College all-rounder who plays for the Scottish under-15 and under-17 teams, has been named the Scottish under-15 player of the year.

The 16-year-old plays for Grange as well as his school and he said: “It is great to be recognised by Cricket Scotland. Looking further ahead, my goal is to play in the full Scotland team and maybe even qualify for a World Cup.

“My elder brother [Henry] plays for Scotland under-19s and is at the Oxford MCCU and my younger brother [Robert] plays for Fettes and Grange under-11 teams.”

Edwards also plays rugby for Fettes and is a member of the Edinburgh under-17 squad.
