Closing 68 earns second win for Tseng

World No 1 Yani Tseng claimed her second Tour title of the year as she held off Choi Na-yeon and Ai Miyazato to win the LPGA Founders Cup. Tseng carded a four-under-par 68 to finish 17-under overall, a shot ahead of Choi and Miyazato. After negotiating the front nine in one over par, she needed something special on the way home and got it in the shape four birdies in the first five holes of the back nine.

In the end, though, after a number of rain delays, she needed par on the final hole in fading light, which she achieved by two-putting from 40 feet.

That was tough on joint overnight leader Miyazato, who was three under yesterday, and Choi, who was four under. Choi’s round, which contained six birdies, was spoiled by a double bogey at the par-four eighth.

Karrie Webb, the 2011 champion, was one over yesterday to finish in a share 14th on eight under, one ahead of Jodi Ewart, Britain’s top finisher in joint 18th.
