City cyclist Skinner supports Revolution in Manchester

Capital cyclist Callum Skinner will have his first track outing for several months when he lines up for tomorrow’s Revolution Meeting in Manchester.

The 19-year-old City of Edinburgh rider, who is now based at the British Cycling Academy in Manchester, will compete in the sprint events against a strong domestic field that features Pete Mitchell, Matt Crampton and David Daniell, the Englishman who pushed Sir Chris Hoy all the way in the recent British Track Championships.

Borderer Flora Gillies will fly the flag for Scotland in the Future Stars Girls events.

However, the big attraction for the sell-out crowd in the second round of the four meeting series is world road race champion Mark Cavendish, who will make his first indoor appearance since 2008 and will face a tough test from Olympic team pursuit gold medallists Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas.
