WITH the inclusion of Argentina from next year the Tri-Nations series has been renamed the The Rugby Championship.

Organisers of the premier international rugby tournament in the southern hemisphere opted not to simply upgrade the Tri-Nations to the Four or Quad Nations due to the fact rugby league and union competitions already exist with both names. SANZAR bosses, along with new boys Argentina, agreed upon the simple if unimaginitive title, with each nation able to sell their own sponsorship rights.
