CELTIC EYEING GORDON

CELTIC will move for Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon in the summer if they can’t sign Fraser Forster permanently, according to both the Daily Record and the Daily Mail.

Gordon, the 29-year-old former Hearts captain, will be a free agent when his £40,000-a-week contract at Sunderland expires at the end of the season.

Forster has been on loan at Celtic from Newcastle for the past two seasons and manager Neil Lennon is said to be keen on sealing a £2 million deal to keep him at Parkhead.

However, with no guarantee that the 24-year-old will want to pledge his long-term future to the newly crowned SPL champions, Lennon is looking at the possibility of signing Gordon on a pay-as-you-play deal.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that AC Milan and Inter are preparing to battle it out this summer for the signature of Manchester City bad boy Mario Balotelli. Both Milan clubs are said to be ready to launch £20m bids for the controversial striker whose two-year spell at City looks to be coming to a close after a string of aberrations.

Infuriated City manager Roberto Mancini reportedly met with Balotelli’s lawyer, Vittorio Rigo, at a Cheshire restaurant last week to discuss the player’s future.
