Carrick Knowe eye Adrian

CARRICK KNOWE have carried the Edinburgh banner into the first round proper of the Roofline Scotland-sponsored Scottish Inter County Top Ten tournament and step up their campaign against Stirling County bowls champions Adrian tomorrow (2pm).

It's another away fixture for Carrick Knowe, who were well pleased with their prelim round win over Northern of Bon Accord.

Meanwhile, wins for Bonnyrigg in the singles, pairs, and triples secured a 6-2 win for the Midlothian champions away to Stonehaven in the prelim round and tomorrow they have home advantage over Northern champions Fraser Park of Inverness.

Bathgate enter the action for West Lothian and travel to Port Glasgow (Renfrewshire).

West Barns lost out to Danderhall in last season's national final and the East Lothian champions are back for another go and launch their campaign with a home game against New Pitsligo of Buchan.

EDINBURGH & LEITH face Midlothian at Penicuik tomorrow in the Scottish Under-25 League Cup.

TITLE-HOLDERS Carrick Knowe have moved two points clear of Slateford at the top of the Water of Leith First Sixteens League following a 5-0 clean sweep over Bainfield.

Slateford dropped a costly point at home to foot-of-the-table Colinton but their 4-1 success puts them 1.5 points ahead of third-placed Sighthill, who could only manage a 3-2 home win over Balerno.
