'Business as usual' for Goodwillie until a deal has been done

In-demand Dundee United striker David Goodwillie travelled with his team-mates to Ireland yesterday.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of interest from both Rangers and Cardiff in the past week. United are looking for 2 million for their star asset and are currently in talks with the Bluebirds about a possible transfer.

However, manager Peter Houston insists it will be "business as usual" for the Scotland international until the club have accepted a firm bid.

United face Drogheda tomorrow then Bohemians on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, United fans face being locked out of their Europa League tie against Slask Wroclaw. It's understood the Tangerines will receive just 476 tickets for the away leg in the Oporovska Stadium on 14 July.

United took around 600 supporters to Greece for their game against AEK Athens last season and expected a similar number to travel this year.

Wroclaw's stadium holds 8,000, but with this being their first European tie since 1988 they expect a full house. The Poles are scheduled to move into a new ground later this year, with one being built to host Euro 2012 matches next summer, but it will not be finished in time for United's visit. So fans face a scramble for tickets unless the club can reach an agreement to get more.

l The longest shirt sponsorship deal in British football is to move into a 24th year after Third Division Stranraer agreed a deal to be backed by local Ferry company Stena Line for a further season.

Stair Park committee member Iain Dougan said: "We are delighted to be sponsored once again by Stena. We had several seasons with the old Sealink name on our jerseys before the company changed its name to Stena 14 years ago and we believe that this is the longest running deal in Scotland and further afield. It is great that a local company have become so involved with their local football side."
