Burgoyne and Mann face final–day fight

EUROPEAN SENIOR TOUR QUALIFYING SCHOOL: Glencruitten’s Terry Burgoyne and Lindsay Mann from Carnoustie are the only Scots still standing heading into the final round in the race for cards at Pestana in Portugal.

As American Dick Mast kept his place at the top of the leaderboard – he is three ahead of the field after carding a 69 for 203 – Burgoyne leapt into a tie for fifth with a one-under-par 70 for 211.

He’s on course to secure one of the 14 conditional cards up for grabs but Mann has work on his hands, even though he moved into a tie for 32nd on 218 after also signing for a 70.
