Boxing: Stemp fight called off

THERE was eleventh-hour disappointment for Edinburgh bantamweight Gareth Stemp last night as his boxing bout in Glasgow was called off.

The scheduled six-round return against Paul McElhinney last night at the St Andrew’s Sporting club was postponed and while former Meadowbank amateur welterweight Gary Collins did enter the ring for his debut six-rounder against Tooting’s Danny Dontchev, he lost on points, 58-57.
