Boxing: Josh Taylor qualifies for London 2012 Olympics

Josh Taylor was today celebrating a historic milestone in his boxing career after it was confirmed that he has qualified for 2012 Olympics in London.

Taylor this afternoon defeated Armenian fighter Vladimir Sarukhanyan 17-9 in the quarter-finals of the Olympic qualification tournament in Trabzon, Turkey, and with his nearest challenger for a Great Britain slot, Sam Maxwell, losing out at the same stage, it means Taylor will go to London regardless of his semi-final result tomorrow.

It is an incredible achievement for the Prestonpans boxer, who will represent TeamGB in the 60kg weight category, and his Lochend-based coach Terry McCormack.
