Boxing: Kenny Anderson floored by cancellation but keeps sights on Wild

Edinburgh's Celtic super-middleweight champion Kenny Anderson was left disappointed following the cancellation of his clash with Carl Wild last night in Colne, Lancashire.

While efforts are being made to see the fight go ahead next Friday in Wild's home town of Sheffield, Anderson said: "This is the story of my pro boxing life - last-minute cancellations or late withdrawals by opponents. Meanwhile, Edinburgh pro supermiddleweight John McCallum never lost a single round as he outpointed Doncaster rival James Tucker by 60-54 pts at the Ravenscraig Arena last night.

And three Lochend amateur boxers scored good wins in Hawick last night. Bantamweight Lewis Lomax and light-welterweight Connor Smith outpointed Hawick pair Mike Thomson and James Amos, while lightweight Ian Keys stopped the host club's Kevin O' Hara in the third round.
