Boxing: Gym'll fix it for Arthur and wife Debbie

ALEX ARTHUR will aim to prove he's still a class act when he takes on Jay Morris at the Braehead Arena tomorrow night - but the Edinburgh boxer admits he's looking to the future outside the ring.

Arthur takes on the "Isle of Wight Assassin" in a lightweight bout on the undercard of Ricky Burns' WBO super-featherweight title defence against Andreas Evensen.

During his preparation for the fight, Arthur, a former WBO super-featherweight champ himself, revealed plans to open a gym when he eventually hangs up his gloves.

His wife Debbie, who is preparing to take a hands-on role in the venture, admitted: "Alex is now 32 but I don't I want him to retire. As long as I believe he has a future at the highest level in the sport, then I will back him to fight on.

"However, I've always looked after his outside-the-ring business and I've already started a University Academic Access course which I aim to lead me to graduating with a Business Management degree. Alex plans to open a gym after he finally quits boxing and I aim to help him manage it.''
