Bowls: Two title chances for Lanarkshire

The Scottish Cities & Counties Championship gets back on track today with the first knock-out matches.

It is the first time since 2004 that East Section winners Edinburgh & Leith have reached the quarter-final stages and they will be in action at Larbert against Lanarkshire West, while North Section winners Aberdeen & Kincardine clash with Dumfriesshire at Invergowrie in the same half of the draw.

Lanarkshire will have a double bite at the title with their South team, who have taken the silverware three times since 2006, having a great opportunity of further success, with a head-to-head against North Section runners-up Northern Counties.

West winners Ayrshire North come up against East Section runners-up West Lothian, who last won the title in 2009.
