Bowls: Foster and Burnett go head to head – twice

Scotland’s Paul Foster and Darren Burnett will go head to head in a second pairs final at the Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines World Championships in Norfolk.

Today, they will line up with partners Alex Marshall and Stewart Anderson respectively for the principal title and tomorrow they will team up with Laura Thomas and Aussie Karen Murphy to battle for the World Matchplay Mixed Pairs title. Both came through the mixed semi-finals yesterday with Foster and Thomas cruising to a 9-1, 11-3 win over Kerry Packwood and Mark Royal, while Burnett and Murphy were run close by former winner Alison Merrien and her partner Mervyn King. Both pairs won one set apiece but the drama came in the best of three-end shoot-out with the outcome decided by the last bowl in each end before Murphy and Burnett triumphed 8-3, 3-13, 2-1.
