The 51-shot margin highlighted the massive gulf in class between the Premier League outfit and an opponent low on confidence after a disappointing campaign in Division 1F.
Wins on all four rinks – skipped by Gavin Smith, Robert Marshall, Colin Hutchison, and Paul O’Donnell – had team manager John Bell hailing a dominant performance.
“The Glasgow carpet is foreign territory to us but we coped with that challenge exceptionally well and apart from taking our foot off the accelerator for a short spell we were never out of the driving seat from start to finish,” said Bell.
“We were very quickly into a comfort zone that seemed to lure us into a loss of focus as we only managed to edge the second phase 28-25 but we snapped out of that slumber to dominate the third, 37-19.”
The match opened in sensational fashion, with Smith seizing on the opportunity to pin a bowl out of the head for a seven-shot reward, contributing to a 13-0 clean sweep for Bainfield on the first end, and they never looked back.
