Booth bounces back with 69 in Spain

LET ACCESS SERIES: Carly Booth shot a second-round three-under-par 69 to beat the cut to the leading 26 players after the second round of the Banesto Tour 54-hole event at Zaragoza in northern Spain.

It was an eight-shot improvement by the Perthshire teenager on her first round but Booth’s tally of two-over-par 146 still leaves her in joint- 16th place, six shots behind leader Marjet Van Der Graaf (Netherlands) and with little hope of following up her maiden pro win in France last weekend.

The only other Scot to qualify for the last day was Ayrshire’s Pamela Feggans, who had a 73 for 147 to squeeze through on the limit mark. Curtis Cup amateur Pamela Pretswell covered 14 holes in three-under-par for a one-under 71 but her first-round 78 was too big a millstone round her neck.
