Bogie is aiming for
high five in Speyside

RALLYING: David Bogie is out to make it a remarkable five wins in a row on the Speyside Stages today and edge closer to another Scottish rally title.

In 2010, the Dumfries-born driver set a new event record by winning his third straight rally. He repeated that last year and wants to push the boundaries further today as he leads a field of over 100 cars. Bogie’s main challenger is likely to be Borderer Euan Thorburn, who is having an excellent campaign in his Ford Focus WRC car. “No one had won the Speyside three times in a row, and I’ve managed four, so it’s an event I’ve got fond memories of,” said Bogie. “I hope I can back that up with a fifth win and preparations are going well. The key to success is trying to make as few mistakes as possible. At the end of the day it could be a second or two which splits the top crews.”
