Bobsleigh: Cooke toils
BUDDING Edinburgh bobsleigh driver Gillian Cooke says a lack of preparation time was behind her 14th-place finish in her third Europa Cup event at Cesana in Italy.
"This was a much harder track than last week Igls and we only had five runs off the top before racing," said the 28-year-old Watsonian, who again had Nikki McSweeney as her brakewoman on the GBR2 sled as she targeted a 10th place finish.
"Once we knew I could cope with the speed we pushed hard on the second start but we just didn't have enough runs to get to grips with the track," she added.
