Bizarre sending off in juniors as keeper fights own fans

Tranent Juniors progressed to the third round of the third round of the East of Scotland Cup after a 5-1 win over Oakley United, helped after the Okaley goalkeeper was sent off for fighting with his own supporters.

With Tranent leading 2-1 in the second half they were handed a boost when the keeper was dismissed after becoming involved in an altercation with his own fans.

Tranet’s Twitter account said: “Oakley down to 10 men Oakley keeper jumps barrier and starts fighting with own supporters.”

Within a couple of minutes a third goal was added.

Oakley finished with nine men as Tranent recorded a comprehensive victory.
