Big price punter’s £16k consolation

A WILLIAM Hill customer missed a bumper £731,895.15 win – despite picking Monday’s infamous 200-1 Taunton winner in his bet.

The optimistic punter, based in Hackney, East London, also picked two further 10-1 winners but his fourth selection failed at 40-1.

Nevertheless, his three winning selections still returned just over £16,000.

William Hill’s Lucy Rhodes said “If the final horse had come in he would definitely be in the top ten biggest winners on horse racing in our history.”
