Beach volleyball: Miedzybrodzki's moment

Beach volleyball star Robin Miedzybrodzki makes his Scotland indoor debut against England at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall this weekend insisting he has no regrets about the way the season has gone.

The Great Britain player expected to be spending the winter months on the beaches of Australia's Gold Coast but the funding of the men's beach programme was pulled by UK Sport. The 25-year-old returned home to play for champions City of Edinburgh and has made a huge impact as the team has swept to the top of the Schelde Sports Scottish League.

Miedzybrodzki is still hoping to secure funding to enable him to go to Australia in the new year with the goal of making the 2012 Olympics in London.

"There will be a great feeling wearing the Scottish flag on my playing shirt and competing in front of a home crowd," he said.
