Basketball programme all but wiped out

All four Scottish League basketball games scheduled for Portobello High School tomorrow have been postponed including the senior women's clash between Edinburgh Kool Kats and Falkirk Fury and the senior men's derby game between Edinburgh Kings and East Lothian Peregrines.

In all, 18 games throughout the country have been postponed by Basketballscotland, including Sunday's big women's clash at Currie between Polonia Phoenix and Glasgow Rocks.

Edinburgh Kings were also due to play a Scottish men's cup-tie against Perth Phoenix at Portobello last night and that too became a casualty of the severe weather, as did Edinburgh University's crucial Northern Premier Division clash with Loughborough.

One local game has so far survived the big freeze with Boroughmuir Blaze v Glasgow Rocks junior men's game still on at Wester Hailes Education Centre on Sunday (12.45pm). One senior men's league game is also still on with St Mirren due to host Glasgow Storm tonight (8pm).
