Basketball: Kings bid to get back in the groove

Without a game for three weeks, Edinburgh Kings must shake off rust and avoid complacency as they bid to get back to their running game for their away clash with Stirling Knights at the Peak Centre tonight.

Latvian star Edgars Rekis and Scotland guard Garreth Lodge, both hope to shake off injuries to play tonight.

Kings won the first basketball encounter between the two on the opening day of the season 100-62 at Portobello after which Knights vowed the gap would be smaller in the return.

East Lothian Peregrines welcome St Mirren, whom they beat at the Lagoon Sports Centre first time out, to Musselburgh (8pm) tonight.

The Peregrines will be buoyed after moving above Dunfermline Reign and off the bottom of the table following last weekend's win at home to Glasgow Rocks.

Reign meanwhile are away to Troon Tornadoes tonight.

Edinburgh Kool Kats face the unbeaten Scottish Cup and league champions Glasgow Rocks at Portobello High School tomorrow (1pm).

Kats have lost twice so far, to Rocks and Polonia, but victory tomorrow would put them right back in the frame.
