Badminton: Under-15s bid to emulate Gilmour

EIGHT years ago, Kirsty Gilmour led Scotland to victory in the annual Under-15 Quadrangular at Scotstoun in Glasgow, one of the first international successes for a player who is on course to make Team GB for the Rio Olympics.

At Scotstoun later this month, Scotland’s newest generation will aim to follow in Kirsty’s footsteps and stage a successful defence of the title won in Milton Keynes last year. England, Wales and Ireland provide the opposition and three Scots – Rachel Andrew, Rachel Sugden and Rachel Cameron – retain their places in the squad.

The team event will be played on Friday, 29 April, with the individual events on the Saturday and Sunday, 1-2 May.
