Christopher made up for his singles disappointment by teaming up with Matthew in the doubles and they won the title with a 22-11, 21-8 victory over Linderrt Vandeurzen and Jona Van Niewkerke of Belgium.

In the under-13s, Glasgow School of Sport's Holly Newall reached the last eight before going out in a close contest with Dutch player Imke van der Aar 24-22, 21-19.

Bank of Scotland Under-13 mixed doubles champions Newall and Alex Dunn (Dalziel High School) reached the semi-finals of the mixed before losing to Marc Laporte and Delphine Delrue 15-21, 21-18, 21-16 and the French pair went on to take that title.

Dunn and Brad Habberley (Culloden Academy) reached the boys' doubles quarter-finals before losing to England's eventual champions Harry Arksey and David Jones 21-5, 21-12 while Newall and Gemma Wright (The Royal High School) also reached the last eight of the girls' doubles, losing to Dutch pair Imke van der Aar and Marit Willemsen.
