Ayr aiming to draw level with Rovers in relegation struggle

UNBEATEN at home since November, Ayr United entertain a Raith Rovers side that sits three points ahead of them in the fight to avoid relegation.

Home manager Brian Reid said: "A win will pull us level with them on points and within one point of Morton so there is plenty to be positive about."

Reid may have to contend with the absence of four players as defenders Mark Campbell and Rocky Visconte are doubts as are midfielder Ryan Borris and front man Danny McKay.

Fit again Willie Easton is in line for a start and Alastair Woodburn returns to the squad after missing out at the weekend. Rovers will be missing the suspended Stephen Simmons after the player picked up his third red card of the season at Inverness at the weekend. Manager John McGlynn will also need to cope with injuries as Mark Campbell, Craig Wilson and Jonny Russell have been ruled out and Dene Shields is rated as a doubt.

Rovers face Dundee United this Sunday in Active Nation Scottish Cup semi-final duty.

Clyde director of football Neil Watt has stepped into the void caused by the removal of John McCormack from the manager's job for their top-versus-bottom clash with Alloa.

On-loan Partick Thistle defender Willie Kinniburgh and midfielder Steven Howarth remain out with knocks, but Kevin Higgins is in line for a recall to the Bully Wee midfield.

Alloa welcome back three players from suspension, midfielders John Grant and Mark Brown and forward Andy Scott.
