All-conquering Stirling sweep to title success

SCOTTISH UNIVERSITIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP: Stirling completed a clean sweep by beating St Andrews in the final of the Scottish Universities Men’s Matchplay Championship at Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth.

Despite losing the first match of the day – Angus Carrick and Zander Culverwell went down to Blair Pelling and Conor Gask on the final green – Stirling led 3½-1½ after the morning foursomes.

They wasted no time getting over the finishing line in the singles and went on to claim the title with a 10-5 victory.
