Alex Miller parts company with AIK
The Stockholm outfit announced that they and Miller had "agreed to part ways" and had not yet identified a replacement for the ex-Scotland assistant, who had spells at Morton, St Mirren, Hibs, Aberdeen and Coventry before a successful coaching post under Gerard Houllier and Rafa Benitez at Liverpool, then a posting in Japan.
After winning the league last year, AIK had a dismal 2010 season, and were at risk of relegation when Miller was hired on 22 June. The team recovered somewhat and finished 11th of 16 teams when the season ended on Sunday. Miller's record was nine wins, four draws and 11 losses in 24 competitive matches. He said he wanted "to thank the players for their professional attitude and the supporters that gave the team good support when we needed it most".
