Colin Calderwood hailed his Hibs side after they defeated Rangers 3-0 at Ibrox last night.

The new Hibs manager picked up his first win in charge and said: "It was quite an occasion and one that I will remember for a long time. It is a momentous victory which will raise a few eyebrows across Britain."

Hearts down Celtic

Hearts continued their rich vein of form with a deserved 2-0 win over Celtic at Tynecastle.

Goals from Ian Black and David Templeton sunk the Hoops, who had Joe Ledley sent off from a two-footed tackle on Black.

The result moves Hearts up to fourth in the SPL.

Mealamu appeal

New Zealand today named Keven Mealamu, bracketed alongside another hooker, in their team to face Scotland.

The All Blacks are appealing the four-week ban handed to Mealamu and they showed their confidence of overturning the ban by naming him.

Cilic next up for Murray

Andy Murray will face Marin Cilic today for a berth in the Paris Masters quarter-finals.

The Scot defeated David Nalbandian in three sets yesterday but suffered a wrist injury. He is, however, expected to be fit to play.

Murray knocked Cilic out of the Australian Open semi-finals in their last meeting.
