Scotland 'very impressive' says Wales rugby legend as kicking key to Six Nations lead

Scotland’s first-half performance has been praised by former Welsh rugby star Jonathan Davies.

Gregor Townsend’s men led 17-8 at the interval with tries from Darcy Graham and Stuart Hogg.

Despite a late try in the half from Louis Rees-Zammit, Scotland were the stronger team across the half.

“You have to say, Scotland, very impressive,” Davies said on the BBC.

“After the initial five minutes where Wales were on top I just thought Scotland took over, territory, possession and the variety of their kicking game was brilliant. Two tries from kicks, one very well skilled, the other a mistake.”

Former Scotland ace John Barclay added: “It looks like they have carried on from last week.

"They look very organised, both sides of the ball.

"Defensively they look great shape, attack they are pulling strings really well and not missing the changes that have come in.

"The big issue has been discipline and back-to-back penalties that are allowing Wales to piggy-back up the pitch.”
