The 22-year-old singer-songwriter performs in his raw and untamed manner at the O2 Academy in Glasgow tonight. He will be unleashing his talent performing a mix of songs from his last EP, Other Sides, as well as a few covers, inspired by his musical heroes, which include Carole King, Stills & Nash and James Taylor. With a reputation honed at London’s Blue Flowers Club, his headline tour is well worth catching.

Support will be from Elle King and Samm Henshaw.

Theatre: The Cheviot, The Stag and the Black Black Oil

The 1970s John McGrath’s musical play is being performed by the Dundee Rep Theatre company. This modern classic, directed by Joe Douglas, portrays times of importance in Scottish history, from the Highland Clearances to the exploitation of the North Sea oil, all presented in the form of a ceilidh.

Comedy: The Thursday Night Show

An eclectic mix of headliners, support acts as well as the all-important newcomer spot, the two hour-long showcase looks like good value for a few laughs. This week features Rob Rouse, Dougie Dunlop, Ashley Storrie, Stephen Buchanan and host Billy Kirkwood.

Film: 45 Years

Director Andrew Haigh’s film is a frank, honest examination of a couple whose marriage is struggling to survive after it’s torn apart by some devastating news. The couple, played by Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay, are also fighting to save face on their way to their 45th wedding anniversary celebration.
